Clear Your Mind to Create the Health You Want
Physical health is not the only key to complete wellness. We also need to tune up our thoughts and beliefs. Understanding the way the body and mind are connected is paramount in discovering and resolving some of the hidden causes of physical problems.

Many methods for enjoying enhanced health and happiness fail to deliver long-term benefits because they only attempt to change the surface-level physical symptoms rather than the deeper underlying causes. Ignoring the underlying causes of is a bit like attempting to flatten a turbulent river without removing the jagged rocks sitting just below the surface.

The mind-body connection

A commonly held misconception in the western world is that the mind and body are separate entities – that there are physical problems and emotional problems.  However, the body and mind are very much one entity. Emotional problems can show up as physical problems.  When you change your mind, your body responds accordingly because the mind and body are both connected and in constant communication with each other.

Your body has an influence on your mind, and, equally, your mind affects your body.  It does so seamlessly and subtly every moment of every day. Most people, most of the time, unintentionally block their health and happiness with out-of-date mind programming or unresolved negative emotions. By detoxing their mind blocks they can more easily experience the levels of peace, happiness, health, wealth and vitality that they want.

Your beliefs-body connection

Did you know that more people die at 9am on a Monday morning than any other time of the week? This is an incredible statistic because it indicates the power of our beliefs. The only difference between 9am on a Monday morning and, 4pm on a Wednesday afternoon are the beliefs we hold in our mind about that specific time of the week.

Your beliefs are the conclusions you’ve come to about yourself (including your body), other people and world you live in. They exist in your unconscious mind, automatically guiding you through your day-to-day life. They also help you to make sense of and respond to the events and environments you encounter. Most of your beliefs are formed in your mind by age 6, which is incredible considering how much they can impact your body for the rest of your life.

What your mind believes, your body becomes

Your beliefs impact the messages sent between your brain and your body. It has been found that your beliefs have the power to influence many aspects of your physical functioning including digestion, immune system, blood pressure and even your DNA. In a very real way, your beliefs become your biology.

In one scientific study, patients were given morphine for serious pain for three days and on the fourth day the morphine was secretly swapped for a simple saltwater solution. Despite not receiving any morphine whatsoever, the patients experienced the same levels of pain relief as they had during the previous three days. The patient’s belief alone had stopped the pain.

There are also well-documented cases of multiple-personality individuals whereby one of the occupying personalities believed he/she had perfect eye sight and required no glasses and the other believed that he/she could not see properly and was nearly blind without artificial correction. In such cases, the personality in dominance at any given time determined how well the person’s physical eyes work.

Your beliefs can shape your body

Apparent miracles like these are possible because your body is designed to follow the orders given to it by your brain. In fact, the individual cells that make up your body are highly intelligent and are able to adjust themselves to the environment in which they exist. Your brain interprets the external environment based upon your beliefs and then tells your individual cells what adjustments they need to make in order to best survive in the environment.

The implications of this are massive when it comes to you taking charge of the shape, weight and health of your body. If you want to change your body it can be highly beneficial to change any beliefs that could be negatively impacting your body.

Due to the mind-body connection, whatever your mind believes, perceives and experiences is sent to the rest of your body causing physical responses. By overcoming the hidden mental and emotional causes to your problems, you can more easily create and enjoy the body you want for life!
