9 Steps to Positive Thinking
Look on the bright side.  A positive outlook not only enhances life’s enjoyment but also improves health, immunity and longevity.  Our attitude is contagious both within ourselves as well as to those around us.  Make a positive change with these tips.  

We often do not give enough attention to the positive things in our lives- taking them for granted. We could be out for a morning walk in nature on a beautiful day with our loved ones and yet, only bring our consciousness into the moment when something negative happens. Now is the time to make a change! Think positive for improved physical and mental health.
 
Every thought and emotion is a molecule. The science of psychoneuroimmunology has proven the link between our physical and mental health. By looking after our body with healthy physical choices we provide positive chemicals to build positive thoughts and emotions. By the same means, a positive state of mind improves our physical health, boosts immunity and enhances the quality as well as the length of our life.
 
Diet 

A diet rich in healthy vegetables provides the nutrients necessary to build healthy and happy emotions. The fear and anxiety an animal experiences as it is slaughtered is passed onto us as the adrenaline that surges through its body at that time. Food additives also affect us, as has been proven in links with behavioral states in children.
 
Exercise

Regular exercise lifts our mood by stimulating the release of endorphins. These hormones cause a sense of exhilaration and act as pain killers. Deeper breathing during exercise also increases oxygen intake, energizing our body and clearing our mind.
 
Lifestyle

Other elements of our lifestyle such as stress, or choices such as smoking and drinking, affect our mental state. Alcohol and other drugs produce a temporary high, stimulating the release of feel-good chemicals in our brain. These become exhausted, causing temporary depression afterwards. These downs become longer and more noticeable with continued use of these substances. 
 
Think positive

Both positivity and negativity are contagious. Focusing on positive thoughts stimulates the release of chemicals in the brain which support and enhance that state.  By contrast, negative thoughts produce chemicals that exacerbate negativity, causing more unhappiness and disappointment.
 
Act positive

Share positive thoughts and actions with others. Pay someone a compliment, give them a smile or do a good turn. This will help you feel good about yourself and no doubt receive a smile in return. Positive interactions with others enhance our internal positivity.
 
Look on the funny side

Laughter, like exercise, stimulates the release of endorphins, enhancing our state of mind and reducing stress. There is a funny side to most situations. Take a lighter perspective on life for enhanced positivity.
 
Surround yourself with positivity

We often get stuck in a rut, moaning about life with anyone who will join in. Make a break and surround yourself with positive people. Don’t share a moan, share a positive observation or laugh with a good friend or even a stranger.
 
Make it concrete

Every night write down 5 things that you liked about yourself that day. These can be a kind action, a healthy choice or a good decision. At the end of every week you will have 35 positive entries to look back over. These will help you feel good about yourself and the world around you.
 
Show gratitude

Before you go to sleep, thank your god or your family or yourself for the good things in your life. Things to be thankful for can include your loved ones, your health or even a delicious meal. This will end your day on a positive note and release brain chemicals to aid in a peaceful night and a positive start to the new day.
 
Think positive and reap the rewards. When you are happier within, and with those around you, your smiles and encouragement will continually draw positivity and people to you. In turn you will enjoy a longer, healthier and happier life.
