Gravity's aging effects
The continual downward pressure of gravity has a dramatic effect on us as we get older. We lose height as our spinal discs compress, our internal organs begin to prolapse and many of us develop varicose veins. Reduced blood supply to our brain due to gravity and the gradual congestion of arteries can compromise mental function.
Inversion is the answer
Inversion stretches and aligns our spine, reversing the impact of gravity. This takes pressure off the discs allowing them to recover their shape. Our organs move back into place. Blood flows easily towards our head relieving stress on varicose veins and enhancing blood flow to our brain. This boosts oxygen and nutrient delivery-precisely what we need for clear mental activity.
Reduce pain
Many people suffer joint and back pain as a result of the effects of gravity. Inversion relieves the pinching or nerves that occurs due to disc compression and reduces the pressure on our vertebrae. As our spine lengthens and tension decreases, so does pain. Ligaments in our joints are also strengthened reducing likelihood of injury.
Improve posture
While hanging upside down, gravity stretches and straightens the spine, relaxing chronically tight muscles. This release allows vertebrae to realign reducing the pressures which maintain poor posture. Postural muscles that continuously hold us up are lengthened and relaxed. When standing upright, duplicate this feeling to strengthen muscles and maintain length and alignment.
Nourish and cleanse
Our heart pumps blood around our body bringing oxygen and nutrients and removing wastes. But gravity makes our heart work hard to return blood from our legs. The cleansing lymphatic system has no pump like the heart and relies on gravity and muscular contraction to circulate lymphatic fluids, draining wastes from our cells and out of the body. Inversion reverses gravity's effects, giving the heart and lymphatics a break, enhancing delivery of fresh, oxygen- and nutrient-rich blood and cellular waste removal.
Develop body awareness and orientation
Hanging upside down stimulates the inner ear which is active in balance and positional awareness. Many athletes and individuals who require balance and orientation for work and play use inversion therapy, but everybody can benefit from it.
So get upside down and reverse aging! You'll feel the benefits with just a few minutes a day-pain relief, improved posture, clearer thought and cleaner body. A fun and relaxing way to boost overall health!
Note: If you have high blood pressure, bone weaknesses, heart or circulatory disorders, or are pregnant, consult your health practitioner before using an inversion table.
