How to Boost Your Immune System at The LifeCo

Here at The LifeCo Phuket, our resident oncology specialist and Chief Medical Operator Thomas Lodi, MD, MD (H) answers some of the most commonly asked questions regarding the recent outbreak of 2019 novel coronavirus (2019 nCoV). As you will read, Dr Lodi emphasizes the necessity of boosting our immune system with simple and effective strategies.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) is an ongoing pandemic, affecting over a hundred countries and territories around the world.

The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, tiredness, and dry cough. Some patients may also show symptoms that begin gradually and are usually mild such as aches and pains, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, or diarrhea. Some people may be infected but don’t show any symptoms. Most people (about 80%) recover from the disease without any special treatment. Immunocompromised people, older people, and those with underlying medical problems like high blood pressure, heart problems or diabetes, are more likely to be affected by COVID-19.

You can catch COVID-19 from others who already have the virus. When a person with COVID-19 coughs, sneezes or exhales, small droplets from their nose or mouth spread. If you are near that person, you can catch the disease by breathing in droplets from the person who sneezes, coughs out or exhales droplets. It is important to stay more than 1 meter away from a person who is sick. These droplets may land on surfaces and objects around this person. If you touch these objects or surfaces, and then touch your eyes, nose, or mouth, you can catch the disease.

We are still learning about how COVID-19 affects people. Researches are held to find a cure for the disease. However, current medicine cannot prevent or cure the disease.

Our Modern-Day Immune Systems

In the 21st century, we are exposed to more toxins than ever before. Our modern-day immune systems always seem to be dealing with external or mental stresses all the time. Therefore, we strongly recommend that everyone takes significant but straightforward action to detoxify themselves two times per year, with other minor commitments and lifestyle upgrades being made in the meantime. It is like having your car’s yearly maintenance. Your body also needs preventative maintenance. Detox is one of the best ways to take care of your body as your body deals with toxins and disease-causing agents every day.

When viruses enter a host cell, most of the time, your immune system will actively denature and destroy them. The reason that your cold goes away in 4-5 days is that during that period you develop an immune response, and your body successfully fights against the disease.

We should keep in mind that people who are at the highest risk for the disease are those who are already immunocompromised. So, if you are concerned about your immune system or you are worried about the risk of the novel coronavirus, we are here with solutions.

We offer you an opportunity to come to The LifeCo Wellbeing Phuket and boost your immune system. Not only will our detox program help you rest and reset, but our carefully selected supporting therapies will also upgrade your immune system beyond its current level. As Dr. Lodi explains, we would not have to worry about this virus more than any other familiar viruses such as the common Influenza virus.

60% of our immune system is based in our gut and lymphatic system.

Which Immune Programs Do We Offer at The LifeCo Phuket?

What can you do to upgrade your immune system, lose extra weight, and feel healthier all at the same time?

We always go back to detoxification. Remember how vital our good bacteria are. We have more bacteria than cells in our body! 60% of our immune system is based in our gut and lymphatic system, which through an unhealthy diet and lifestyle flaws can become suppressed and underactive for months and years.

Remember, yet again, a healthy digestive system induces a bowel movement 45-90 minutes after a full meal has been consumed. If you fall short of this goal like most people, then you have a lot inside of you, which is waiting to be recycled and eliminated.

So, your immune system is busy, which means that your liver is busy, and your lymphatic system has taken on more than it can handle. As soon as we begin the detox process by minimizing digestion (master detox and green juice detox), you free up an incredible amount of energy that will be redirected towards your immune system. That is Detox 101.

The lymph vessels act as the superhighway of the immune system, allowing for open communication with other immune functions.

Did you know that our bodies contain almost the same amount of blood and lymph fluid? We are very familiar with blood and the importance of increasing circulation through diet and exercise, but we seem to know very little about the lymph system! Unlike the circulatory system which uses the heart and lungs to pump through the body, our lymphatic system requires movement of various kinds to circulate properly. During your detox program, we always offer you several great ways to activate your lymph fluid! Walking in nature (as the movement of arms and legs has been designed by evolution to move the lymph), using the infrared sauna, using our vibrational therapies including Electro Lymphatic Therapy, the sonic table and jumping on our rebounder trampoline!

We also have two highly trained lymphatic therapists who help you move your lymphatic system through the use of a specialized machine that removes blockages and stagnation. During your ELT (electro lymphatic therapy) session, our therapists will move around the body gently, pressing two glass tubes filled with noble gasses into lymph nodes and vessels. You will feel when the therapists have found a ‘sticky spot’ where a blockage is to be removed, or even hear the machine working harder when stagnation is present.

Why Do We Use IV Vitamins?

We have several IVs available specifically to boost the immune system. In most cases, water-soluble vitamins (such as Vit C and Vit B) are best when administered through IV. Our digestive system places limits on the amount of these vitamins we absorb when administered orally. We can only get up to a certain amount of concentration of Vitamin C in our blood or our tissues from our gut. Once we exceed that amount, our bodies will start to eliminate excess through bowel and bladder movement. When administering IV Vitamin treatments, we can bypass digestion to ensure these higher doses can upregulate our tired immune systems.

Supporting our immune system in this way also helps fight off cancer. Viruses and cancer act similarly, and many cancers are related to sub-viruses like hepatitis B, C, or HPV. Therefore, they require the same immune responses.

Vitamin C is one of the most effective and well-known therapies, while ALA and Vitamin D also provide supportive roles in the immune-boosting process. Our ozone therapies, where 200cc of blood is removed from the body, ozonized, then reintroduced back into the body, is also an incredible stimulator and can make other IV treatments much more effective. Another treatment, called minor autohemotherapy (MIAHT), is another ozone treatment we offer that is a potent immune booster. 5cc of blood is drawn out, mixed with another 5cc of ozone, and introduced back into the body via an intramuscular shot. Alternative treatments such as these are like having your natural vaccination shot and have proven to be effective in a wide range of cases.

Combination of Glutathione and Phosphatidylcholine

We also use a combination of glutathione and phosphatidylcholine. This combination works to repair the liver, which is very important because, in order to detoxify, your liver needs to perform in its full capacity, which eventually also affects your immune system.

Healthy Sleep and Consistent Meditation is also Important

Getting high-quality sleep is essential for maintaining optimal health and wellbeing and ensuring a healthy immune system. So, we encourage you to practice good sleep hygiene.

Meditation has an impact on creating positive thoughts and emotions, which, in turn, lead to relaxation and upregulation of the immune system. Meditation is not a religious practice, no matter which religious beliefs you have, you can still practice meditation. It is just a way of controlling stress and detoxifying your mind. Meditation practices focused around breathwork have also proven to be effective beyond belief in supporting healthy immune responses.

Our minds have an incredible effect on the overall health of the body. Soothing our emotions through practicing mindfulness is essential for our emotional health. Gratitude is also a very powerful emotion we must utilize every day. Practices centered around gratitude for the body and mind can help us live longer, happier, and healthier.

We know negative thoughts suppress the immune system, but how do we use this to our advantage? Since we will always be subject to the occasional negative thinking even after excellent practices are a part of everyday life, we need only to change the way we interact with negativity. There is nothing wrong with having negative thoughts and doubts; it is a part of being human. What we choose to do now instead of getting worked up about negativity is to let it come and let it go after being replaced by practices of gratitude. The only thing that focusing on negativity will do is to bring more negativity into your life. Feel and understand you deserve better and take action that causes you to spend more time feeling great and supporting your immune system!

So, now with your mind at ease and solutions available, we invite you to our beautiful paradise of Phuket, where programs are accompanied by lush green mountains, fresh ocean air, and a staff who loves to support you! We offer holistic health made easy for our guests! Their incredible results are testimony to our dedication.
