Love who you are: Never ever hate yourself for being ‘you’. It is very important to love and enjoy being your original self. It is only when you accept yourself that you can expect others to accept you the same way.

Find opportunities to be happy: One must never let go off an opportunity to smile. The more you smile the more you keep the positive vibes coming. Happiness is a major key to stay mentally healthy.

Keep stress at bay: This is very essential. Stress makes your mind heavy, making it difficult for a person to think rationally. The stress of everyday life can kill the happiness. When the mind is full of tensions, it is bound to lead you to depression.

Find your purpose of life: Life should be lived to the last drop. Your aim should be to find meaning of your life and try to make people around you happy. Set goals for yourself and try to achieve them. This will keep your mind engaged.

Value relations: One should value relationships and make time for people who are close to them. This helps you to surround yourself with positive people and also ensure that you have supportive people always by your side.

Meditate to destress: Meditation helps in relaxing your nerves. At the end of each day, when you meditate, you let go off the negative thoughts. You can also consider beginning your day with meditation to concentrate your positive energies and give a happy start to your day.

Indulge in a hobby: Find a thing that interests you and then hone your skill. Experiment and play around with your hobby to develop it. It is important to express yourself and a hobby helps you to do that.

Get enough sleep: It is highly recommended for a young adult to get a sleep of at least 7-8 hours. Lack of sleep can lead to irritation and thus affect your functioning. Good sleep is the key to staying alert and focussed throughout the day.

Regular exercise: Keep yourself physically active by exercising daily. Idea is to keep yourself on the move so that there is not a single lazy second in your day. This will keep you active and motivated throughout the day.

The message is clear. In order to stay mentally healthy, fit and fine, smile as much as you can. Body, mind and soul are all connected. If one is affected, the functioning of other two is also disrupted.
