Fasting has been a common practice in many cultures, employed for physical, mental, and spiritual health. It is nature's way of allowing your body to cleanse and heal itself, and that rest is important to the success of the process.

When we fast (stop eating) all the Vital Force that has been used to convert food into energy and body tissue, is now being used to flush poisons out of the system and facilitate the natural healing of the body.

Water fasting, also known as a water cleanse, is a type of fasting in which you consume only water for a set period of time.  Many cleansing diets are referred to as fasts, but in water fasting, you take in zero calories.

 

 

 

 

What is the daily flow of the program?

 

Every day, guests will be served alkaline water on a 30-minute basis to make sure that the required amount of water intake has been fulfilled throughout the day. On a daily basis, joining activities, colon cleansing therapies, making use of the infrared sauna and turbosonic vibration therapy is encouraged. Guests will be consulting our program manager throughout the day, to make sure the daily progress is recorded. Daily vital sign measurements to indicate blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation and body weight will be conducted by the medical team in the clinic.  Meetings with your program coordinator on a daily basis will help you understand more about the program as well as providing guidance throughout the fasting program. Weekly follow-ups will be done through blood tests and weekly doctor consultations. The program coordinators will guide you on the usage of Spa rooms (steam, sauna) according to your program length.

 

Who can benefit from water fasting?

 

Everyone can benefit from water fasting. Either you are seeking for a  periodic cleanse or you suffer from different conditions; obesity, chronic disease, autoimmune disorders, food addictions, digestive disorders, mental and physical stress, etc. 

What's the length of the program? The minimum length of the Water Fasting program is 14 days and the program requires an extra 7 days as post fasting period within the premises. Full program duration is 21 Days.

*For individuals who are experiencing serious chronic illnesses, are recommended to join at least 2 consecutive 14 days of water fasting and a 7 day guided fast-breaking period.

7 Day Fast-Breaking Program 

 

Water fasting for long periods (14+ days) requires a particular dietary transition. The fast-breaking phase that lasts 7 days by the end of water fasting program is a mandatory program that will be monitored by clinic staff daily. In order to avoid potential problems in the liver, kidneys and digestive system, the 7-day fast-breaking program is a phase where individuals will have a special juice fast diet and towards the end eating raw-vegan high enzyme and fiber containing food in order to ease the digestion process.

How Long Should One Water Fast?

 

Ideally, if one is suited for a water fast, it should be done for 7 days, once per season, 4 times a year. This is a great regimen to keep massive benefits including anti-aging results. A good reference to register that the time to break a fast has come is when the tongue's appearance returns to a pink color (throughout the fast one will notice white, grey or green film as toxins release). For those who are fasting to treat a severe problem, like cancer, one should be monitored closely by a doctor and the duration may continue until the issue dissipates or is gone

 

How much water will I be drinking throughout the day?

 

One should have at least 3 liters of good quality, preferably alkaline water in a day to remain hydrated.

 

How am I going to be supervised and what is the role of professional supervision during a water fast?

 

At The LifeCo, anyone undergoing a water fast will be seen by our physicians and regularly by our program managers. We initially measure blood levels, CBC, kidney and liver functions and vital electrolytes. As needed we will continue to check these levels. In the case of a reduction in any one these indicators, required amounts of electrolytes in the form of the himalayan salt or a mineral IV will be administered. Our juice bar staff will be serving water every 30 minutes to make sure the required intake of water has been met each day of the fast.

 

How should one break the fast?

 

For every 7 days of water fasting, for most individuals, a 1-1.5 day melon or watermelon diet is strongly recommended. Because of their high enzyme and water content, melons are the most easily digestible solid food. Being easy on digestion and not pushing after a water fast is very important for one's liver and kidney health. Following the melon diet, the next few days would require a diet that consists of green juices and green salads. Cancer patients who are going through a water fast are recommended to directly transition to a green juice/salad diet with no intake of melons prior to transition, due to the high glucose content. The LifeCo's 14-day water fasting program is followed up by a 7-day fast-breaking regimen that consists of a green juice detox program with additional supportive therapies. As with all of our programs, we make sure to customize the fast and post-fast according to each individual's constitution.

 

What are some essential habits to support a water fast period?

 

Getting ample sleep, waking up early, meditating, joining yoga or light stretching activities, doing breathing exercises to clean out the lungs and facilitate detoxification, reading books on health and fasting are some of the most beneficial activities someone on a fasting period could habitualize.

 

What is the role of supportive therapies at The LifeCo's water fasting programs?
